Pepper Stark was founded in June 2005 by Liz Pepper and Claudia Stark. With a combined experience of over 20 years in stock photography Liz Pepper and Claudia Stark have unrivalled knowledge of the developments, the people and the workings of the industry worldwide. Today Pepper Stark has a rapidly expanding team of leading business consultants with strong commercial backgrounds in international sales, marketing, training as well as considerable experience of running picture agencies, developing content and distribution management.

Liz Pepper has developed her career in international business, sales and marketing over the last 13 years and she has lived and worked in France, Germany, Austria and Japan. Liz's track record of success in sales management and training has spanned diverse industry sectors including tourism, finance and media. Liz has devised and implemented tailored sales training programmes for staff at several leading blue chip companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers and Publicis. Before moving into stock photography, Liz worked as Sales Manager for a specialist tour operator where she recruited and led a large sales team to increase company turnover and profitability in one of the toughest times in the travel industry.

Liz entered the stock photography industry in 2002 where she spent three years at Image Source successfully building and managing the company's international sales team and global distribution network. Liz's knowledge of sales management is widely known and Liz has been a panel speaker at the annual PACA conference on this subject and writes regularly on aspects of the industry and the changing landscape of media.  

At Pepper Stark Liz is involved in all aspects of the company's business including the recruiting of sales and marketing personnel, devising and implementing sales and management training programmes, drafting business plans, sales and marketing strategies and setting up and managing international distribution networks for the company's clients.

Liz is a graduate of Cambridge University with a degree in French and German. She enjoys international travel, playing squash, skiing and spending time with friends.

Claudia Stark
Co-Founder and CEO

Claudia Stark brings over 15 years b2b international sales and management experience across a range of international companies in IT, sports and media. Claudia has worked with companies such as Dell, Siemens, adidas, Nike and Emap. Before joining the stock industry in 1998, Claudia developed and managed the flagship trade sports exhibition in Moscow and St. Petersburg working alongside the Russian Ministry of Sports and the Mayor of Moscow. After achieving significant sales growth at Digital Vision, Claudia went on to take up sales directorship positions at image100 and Image Source. Most recently Claudia held a senior management role with zefa visual media. Claudia successfully integrated royalty free into zefa's rights managed environment and generated first year sales growth of several million Euros. She increased zefa's product offering through media partners and launched a new high-end royalty free product line, now rebranded as Corbis RF. This was in addition to the development of the existing imageshop brand which was one of the first Adobe Creative Suite 2 partners. Besides qualifying as a professional translator of English, Claudia graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, New York as a trained actress and still does professional voiceover work for the BBC, radio and cinema.
